We have been going to Morocco for nearly 4 years and every time when we visited the Towns and Villages of this fascinating country, we fell in love with the Berber Tradition and their Customs and Rituals.
After year and half we had bought an apartment in Heart of Agadir and
was looking all sorts of Moroccan Traditional furniture and rugs and
home artefacts. Off we went to different parts of Morocco in search of
hand made traditional Items. When we got to this beautiful part of Mid
atlas region has been Magnet & Mecca for tourist from all over the
world for one thing which are Traditional Hand weaved hand knotted rugs
in beautiful vibrant natural colours & fibres and designs, was told
this part is steeped into history of Sahrawian and Berber Nomads
culture and this traditional rug weaving has been passed over from
generation's to generation's.
We decided to purchase 5
different rugs for the apartment in beautiful designs and colours.
Since then we fell in love with their beautiful rugs and decided with
local help of our friends and family to form a Co-Operative and fair
trade so we can indulge in our passion of rugs collecting and same time
bring these beautiful rugs to main stream of consumers in European
countries.
Unlike some internet Moroccan & Berber rug traders the
Moroccan-Rugs.com is a genuine rug weaver with our own weaving
Co-Operative premises.
We do not show pictures of rug warehouses which we don't own or quote
items as in stock which we don't have. Customers are more than welcome
to visit our weaving house in south of Morocco place call Sidi Moktar
to view the rugs on our site & our Expert Weavers.
We are the only Co-Operative in this area and
keeping the welfare of local people in mind we would like to offer this
beautiful rugs and artefacts of this area to you general public. We
also provide a custom made to measure rugs service that is very much
unheard of in Traditional Rugs weaving.
Any of these designs
you see we can hand weaved for you in any colours you desire and sizes
from .50Mtr up to 5Mtrs width and any length you wish.
